About

Nature's playground! Like many poms searching for a better climate, I came to Australia as a backpacker and fell in love with the place. I hung out in Queensland where I hitched rides on yachts and learned to sail. I was hooked! I had a fantastic sailing adventure through Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong. After nine years travelling and working in Asia I returned to Australia to live by the sea in Sydney.

I started this blog in July 2011 partly because I wanted to do something with my photos and I was keen to improve my technique. I’ve got some amazing seascapes staring right at me every day so it’s not hard to be inspired. Most of these photos are taken very close to home, I love trying to capture the changing coastal environment, how people interact with the ocean, and how the time of day, the weather and the seasons make it look different all the time. I also wanted to see if I can commit to posting regularly. It seems to be working so far!
